Pivotal Movers Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) outline the terms under which Pivotal Movers (“we,” “us,” “our”) will provide moving services to you, the customer (“you,” “your”). By booking our services, you agree to the following terms:

1. Services Provided

We offer local moving services, including packing, storage, junk removal, and various specialized moving solutions (such as corporate, senior, and student moves). The scope of services provided will be outlined in the booking confirmation email, based on the package you select.

2. Booking and Confirmation

When you book a move through our website, a confirmation email will be sent to you, summarizing the details of your move, including the date, time, services requested, and pricing. Your booking is only confirmed once this email has been sent and acknowledged.

3. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your moving date. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your move.
  • Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and electronic transfers. Payment is due in full upon completion of the moving services unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • Cancellation: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled move to qualify for a refund of the deposit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the move date may result in a forfeiture of the deposit.

4. Liability and Insurance

  • Transport Insurance: Pivotal Movers carries transport insurance for your belongings during the move. While this covers damages in transit, we highly recommend you obtain your own insurance, especially for high-value items or if your belongings are to be stored.
  • Limitations: We are not responsible for damages caused by unforeseen circumstances beyond our control (such as weather, accidents, or road conditions). Furthermore, we are not liable for any items packed improperly by the customer.
  • Storage Units: If you choose to use our storage solutions, please note that we may store property from multiple customers in shared units. As such, customers will not have direct or unfettered access to these units.

5. Exclusions and Non-Allowable Items

Pivotal Movers cannot transport or store the following items:

  • Hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids, explosives, and toxic chemicals.
  • Perishable items, such as food and plants.
  • High-value items like jewelry, cash, or important legal documents should be transported personally.

6. Access and Delivery

It is your responsibility to ensure that our movers have clear access to your property at both the pick-up and delivery locations. This includes arranging parking for the moving truck and ensuring that any stairs, elevators, or hallways are accessible.

7. Delays and Rescheduling

Pivotal Movers will do its best to meet your scheduled moving date and time. However, unforeseen circumstances (such as traffic, inclement weather, or road closures) may cause delays. In such cases, we will inform you promptly and reschedule the move at the earliest available time.

8. Packing and Unpacking Services

If packing services are requested, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all items are prepared for packing before the movers arrive. We take every precaution to handle your belongings with care; however, we are not responsible for any pre-existing damage or damages resulting from improper packing by the customer.

9. Junk Removal

For our junk removal service, we will dispose of non-hazardous items as specified by you. We are not responsible for any items removed in error unless those items were clearly identified to be excluded from disposal.

10. Changes to Services

If you need to make any changes to your move (such as adding services or rescheduling), please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but additional fees may apply depending on the changes requested.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia. Any disputes arising from this Agreement will be settled through arbitration in Kamloops, BC.

Changes to These Terms

Pivotal Movers reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will notify customers of any significant changes to this policy by updating the date at the top of this page.
